Spearheaded the efforts to promote a culture of safety as the college’s first Director of Safety. Built a comprehensive and robust safety program to enhance guidance and polices from UF EHS ensuring engineering labs were among the safest operating labs at UF. Conducted risks assessments to ensure compliance and appropriate management of hazards for over 300 diverse research laboratories across nine departments. Served as a respected member of the engineering research operations team, working with IT and Facilities Services offices to implement process improvements that streamlined support services such as: new faculty onboarding, laboratory renovations and business continuity.
